Location details

Calabardina is a small seaside Spanish Resort which is open all year round. The amenities include various Hotels, Beach-side Bars, Restaurants, Cafes and a Hairdressing and Beauty Salon. There is one small family run Supermarket open all year round, and a second family run Supermarket is open for the Summer. There is a bus service linking Calabardina to the larger town of Aguilas. Calabardina is situated at the foot of Cabo Cope, a Parque National, and is ideal for hiking/walking and the views are spectacular over the Costa Calida and towards Mazarron. Calabardina has two large beaches, one is the sheltered sandy Calabardina cove, ideal for the entire family, whilst the Playa de la Cola is a longer beach located on the way into Calabardina. There is also an additional small cove within a minutes walk from the apartment. On the outskirts of the town, there is a small beach which is ideal for anyone who likes to snorkel and Calabardina has two Diving Schools which cater for all levels of expertise. There is also the added advantage of water sports, walking, hiking, beach fishing as well as exploring the coast and inland amenities. Several Golf Courses are also within easy reach by car (e.g. Desert Springs, Lorca Golf Resort and San Juan de Los Terreros amongst others).

Local Activities

The nearest town to Calabardina is Aguilas (approx 10 mins drive) and is typically Spanish. A weekly outdoor market is held on Saturday on the outskirts of the town, selling local produce, clothes, bric-a-brac etc. Aguilas is served by a large selection of shops, which cater for all age groups, numerous Hotels, Seaside Cafes, Bars and Restaurants. The town has two large sandy beaches which cater for the entire family. Aguilas is also served by its own Bus & Train Stations which serve all major destinations throughout Spain. Lorca can be reached in 30 mins, Murcia 45 minutes and Cartagena 1hour. There are several Golf Courses within easy reach by car - Lorca Golf Resort is about a 20 minute drive, San Juan de Los Terreros is a 25 minute drive door to door, whilst Desert Springs Golf Course is approx 24kms by car. The area surrounding Aguilas is agricultural, there is no major industry, so therefore the air is fresh and clean. Lemon, Orange and Almond trees abound as well as all types of vegetables. The climate is temperate all year round which is helped by the surrounding Mountains and the Sea. Aguilas holds an annual Carnival prior to Easter, which is visited by tourists from all over Europe, who like to "PARTY".
